Zero Data Collection

This policy applies to all RAMSIO Digital products and services, including:

  • RAMSIO Markdown Viewer — Free Chrome Extension
  • All future products and services published under ramsio.tools

RAMSIO Digital products collect ZERO personal data. We do not track you, profile you, or sell your information. Your privacy is absolute.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how RAMSIO Digital, a GST-registered sole proprietorship based in India (GSTIN: 29FFPPA9847J1ZL), handles data across all its products and services distributed through ramsio.tools.

Effective Date: March 12, 2026

2. Data We Collect

None. Our products do not collect, transmit, store, or process any personal data whatsoever. Specifically:

RAMSIO Markdown Viewer (Chrome Extension)

The RAMSIO Markdown Viewer Chrome Extension processes Markdown files entirely within your browser. No file content, browsing data, or personal information is ever transmitted to any server. The extension makes zero outbound network requests.

3. Data Storage

Our products store only user preference settings (such as selected theme, zoom level, and feature toggles) using platform-provided local storage APIs (e.g., Chrome’s chrome.storage.local). This data:

4. Permissions Explained (Chrome Extension)

RAMSIO Markdown Viewer requests the following Chrome permissions, each with a specific, privacy-respecting purpose:

storage

Used exclusively to save your preference settings (theme, zoom level, feature toggles) locally on your device.

tabs

Used to detect the URL of the current tab to determine if it contains a Markdown file. The extension only reads the tab URL — it does not access page content unless it is a Markdown file.

scripting

Allows the extension to inject the Markdown renderer into pages that contain raw Markdown content (e.g., raw GitHub files). This is required to transform plain text into formatted output.

contextMenus

Adds a right-click context menu option to open Markdown files directly in the viewer.

Host Permissions (specific sites only)

The extension requests access to specific code-hosting platforms (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) to detect and render raw Markdown files hosted on those services. No other websites are accessed.

File Access (optional)

If you grant “Allow access to file URLs” in Chrome’s extension settings, the extension can render local .md files opened via file:// URLs. This access is optional and user-initiated.

5. Third-Party Services

Our products use zero third-party services. There are no external API calls, no CDN resources loaded at runtime, and no third-party scripts. All functionality is self-contained.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our products do not collect any data from any user, including children under 13. There is nothing to comply with under COPPA because no data collection occurs.

7. International Compliance

Because no data is collected or transmitted, our products are compliant with:

There is no data to protect, transfer, or delete because none is collected.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the “Last Updated” date above. Any material changes (such as introducing data collection) would be communicated through the relevant product update channels.
